Celebrating my website makeover – Win a Portrait Shoot

Celebrating my website makeover – Win a Portrait Shoot

Sometimes you just need a little lift, a makeover, some bright red lipstick, and an incredible outfit to put a swing in your step, bring joy back into your life and make you feel like a million dollars.

I’m excited to launch my new photography website and logo – both of which really needed a new look and feel to showcase what I’ve been up to since I created my first website and photography practice in 2016.

As I’ve been choosing images for the website, I’ve been looking back on what I’ve done over the last four years.  My love of photography has taken me in directions I could only imagine in 2016 – from photographing a cabaret dancer at Le Lido in Paris (thank you Leah!), a festival in Naples, to photographing the amazing landscape and people in outback Australia, holding my first solo exhibition and soon leading my first photography workshop in India.  Along the way, I’ve met some incredible people, made some amazing friends and been privileged to hear the life stories of people I’ve photographed.

This website has been a labour of love and I’m really excited to officially launch it today.  There are so many people who have walked (sometimes run) with me through this journey, who have encouraged me, supported me, worked with me, hung my art on their walls (humbled), who put their trust in me to take their photo and then gave me their all to create beautiful images.  And so to give everyone a big hug and thank you, I’m giving away prizes and special offers to mark this occasion.

Two portrait sessions to be won – Let me tell your story

Photography for me is all about celebrating life, love, friendships and creating memories. I love taking photos and in particular portraits, so that’s why – to celebrate the launch of my new website – I’m giving away not one but two portrait sessions.

Winners can choose either a private portrait session or a personal branding session.  The sessions are open to those who live in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane or who can get to either one of those cities and need to be done before April 2020.

To enter, all you need to do is:

Step 1:  Subscribe to my mailing list (don’t forget to verify your subscription) and comment on this blog as to why you would love a portrait session with me

Step 2:  Do one or more of the following (don’t forget the more you do the more chances you have of winning)

  • Follow me on Instagram
  • Like Kris Ashpole Photography on Facebook
  • Invite your friends to join in as well
  • Share this post or mention this giveaway on your Blog, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #krisashpolephotography

The give away is open from 11 August 2019 until 31 August and the winners will be announced during the week of 2nd September 2019.

I’ve realised over the years that it takes a team of people working together to achieve your vision.  So I want to say a super big thank you to all those people who have worked with and supported me in my pursuit of photography – from my mentor, teachers, fellow photography enthusiasts, to hair and makeup artists, stylists, friends and family and to the people whose portrait I’ve taken and those who are featured on my website.  And a special shout out to Carys Elliot over at Venture and Gain Agency who worked with me to design, edit and create this website.  Her expertise is second to none and her enthusiasm for photography coupled with mine – meant we were a team made in heaven.

Thank you everyone!  I couldn’t have done it without you.

A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people. Annie Leibovitz

I would love to know what you think of the new site and I am sending big thanks in advance for all your generosity and sharing.

Good luck and thanks for taking a look at my website – hope you enjoy it.

Hi Kris, new website looks wonderful. Congratulations!

I followed you a few years back as a friend of Jacquie Bawtree and have been following your journey on social since.

I started consulting in sports event management in 2015 when I decided to give up full time employment to get some semblance of work-life balance. It hasn’t exactly worked for the short term but I’m hoping short term pain will lead to long term gain!

I created a logo and website way back then but have since closed down the website as it just didn’t do my experience or personal brand justice and I wanted to revamp my logo. I’ve reached out to a designer friend of mine so we can work on the logo and the website will come in due course. When I have time! 😉

What I am conscious of in the meantime, is that every time I get asked for a headshot for a new client intro or even my LinkedIn, I’m searching through old pics and selfies to try and crop something suitable- professional but not staid – that’s not me at all!

It would be great to have a couple of shots that I am not mortified to have to use for not only my online presence, but things like accreditation pics.

Last portrait session I did was one of those sold door to door and my brother and I felt ridiculous as we tried to get a couple of good shots for mum and dad. Mum has been going on about getting a family portrait for a long time too and this just reminded me!

So after all that – I think what I’d actually love – is to win this comp and send my mum for the shoot. She never does anything for herself, always putting my dad and us kids first, and I’d love for her to have a few hours of being the one in the spotlight and getting all glammed up.

Thanks for the consideration Kris and good luck with it all!

Kris, the stories of the women you work with shine though in your photographs. While I would love to win this amazing prize, whoever does will get to share a magical moment of time with you, and it will last a lifetime. congrats on your new website.

I would love to see what I could like in the hands of such an amazing photographer.. sounds a bit like I’m sucking up to be a winner but I’ve never had a shoot before, it would be wonderful.
