Brand Romance: influence in the (h)air

I’m excited to share photos from a recent portrait shoot with Christina Butcher – one the winners of my portrait session giveaway held earlier this year to celebrate the launch of my new website.   Christina  writes the highly successful and wonderful blog – Hair Romance and with her husband, Jim writes another blog Mr & Mrs Romance (my fave kind of blog – all about travel, food and wine!).

Meeting Christina to plan our shoot, we chatted on her balcony looking over Sydney Harbour discussing what she was looking for. I found out that not only is she a blogger but she’s also a beauty and lifestyle digital publisher helping brands become influencers on social media and a New York Times best selling author to boot.  To say I was impressed was an understatement – such an inspiration.

For our photo shoot Christina selected a personal branding session.   Our shoot took place on a very sunny Autumn day in April and took us to various locations around Sydney – Jones Bay Wharf, Pyrmont, my own neighbourhood of Glebe and then around Sydney Theatre Company in Walsh Bay.    Here’s a few of my personal favourites.

Christina with her best selling Hair Romance book!

Christina was a joy to shoot as was her hubby Jim – these two are such great friends and so much in love.  They are both gorgeous people – full of joie de vivre – one can’t help but start feeling the same!

Towards the end of the day, I had a few photos I wanted to do – throwing caution to the wind, capturing Christina as if she was out on a night at the Theatre. Donning a leopard print coat and a hat box of mine, off we went – such fun!

Photographing Christina and Jim was such a joy.  Thank you to both of them for a wonderful day and allowing me to share these images.  You can follow Christina and Jim through their blogs above.  Being a lover of champagne, this blog from Mrs and Mrs Romance is one of my faves.

Given Christina is the mastermind behind Hair Romance, I thought a little hair quote wouldn’t go astray.

'If your hair is done properly, you have on good shoes, you can get away with anything', Iris Apfel
